Introduction | Agoria

Belgospace is the Belgian space industry association, bringing together most of the Belgian companies active in the field of space technologies and members of Agoria. Through its openness to the academic world, Belgospace is the only association, at federal level, that wants to promote dialogue between the academic world and industry while defending the interests of the sector.

The challenges of the aerospace sector

  • Keep the knowledge: tools exist to stay ahead of the pack, why not use them even better?
  • Playing in the big league: large industrial groups need the know-how and flexibility of SMEs.
  • Inventing the future : The impact of major space infrastructures on daily life is already significant.

Belgospace anticipates and reacts

  • To promote ESA research programs such as the General Support Technology Program (GSTP) and the Telecommunications Systems Program (ARTES)
  • To better integrate Belgium in the European space policy
  • To promote Belgian skills to large groups and public authorities.
  • To ensure that together with other areas of Agoria, actions are taken with universities and colleges to include research on applications using GALILEO and GMES.

About Belgospace

Belgospace is the Belgian space industry association within Agoria, bringing together most of the Belgian companies active in the field of space technologies and members of Agoria.

Belgospace was created in 1962 as an ASBL at the request of the Government to meet a need for coordination of ELDO(1) and ESRO activities. Since then, Belgospace has become an industrial forum where common business problems are discussed as well as the main options that Belgium should take in the space field.

In 2004, the members decided to broaden access to the association to educational institutions that are active in Belgium in the space sector and have significant technological assets. By opening up to the academic world, Belgospace is the only association, at federal level, that wants to promote dialogue between the academic world and industry while defending the interests of the sector.
