Last week, a successful event for the Energy Technology Club which organised the 41st edition of Belgium’s most famous energy industry network event: the Walking Dinner.
At this occasion, the Club and its 42 sponsors had the pleasure to welcome Erwin Verstraelen, Chief Digital Information & Innovation Officer of the Port of Antwerp, for a technological seminar focused on Ports in transformation: innovation platform towards a sustainable future. Ports are facing a ‘perfect storm’, challenged to reinvent themselves. For the port of Antwerp, this is not a problem but an opportunity to become the catalyst for a sustainable future, at the levels of supply chain, mobility, energy transition and circular economy. The digital transformation of the port represents more than ever the crucial element for achieving its strategic goals.
This seminar was followed by the famous Networking Walking Dinner, attracting more than 350 industry professionals including decisions makers from the energy sector such as renewable power generation companies, utilities, project developers and investors, oil, gas and (petro-)chemical companies, grid and transmission operators, tank storage terminals, pipeline owners and TSOs, EPC companies and large engineering consultancies.
